Zelenskyy advocates for support as he meets Biden at UNGA VIDEO
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, as he announced on his Telegram channel.
Before this meeting, Zelenskyy took the opportunity during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly to brief President Joe Biden on his "plan of victory" which outlines key objectives for Ukraine’s ongoing efforts amidst the conflict, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
This plan reportedly includes four main points, one of which focuses on securing enhanced guarantees from Western allies. Furthermore, Zelenskyy aims to advocate for continued operations in the Kursk region and the provision of advanced military equipment to bolster Ukraine's defence capabilities. Additionally, the plan seeks to ensure ongoing financial support from international partners.
Zelenskyy also engaged with French President Emmanuel Macron, who expressed France's commitment to train and equip a Ukrainian brigade. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured Zelenskyy of Türkiye's readiness to act as a mediator for peace in Ukraine.
In another development, House Speaker Mike Johnson was unable to meet with Zelenskyy due to an impending hurricane. He later suggested that the Ukrainian president consider replacing the country’s ambassador to the U.S. following a visit to a defence facility in Pennsylvania.
