"It is impossible to accuse Azerbaijan of anti-Russian actions"

An attempt of information dump directed against the Russian-Azerbaijani allied relations was foiled today in the live broadcast of Dmitry Kulikov's "Who is against?" talk show on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

During the talk, Kommersant's international columnist Maxim Yusin presented the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which was in fact the result of large-scale provocations by the Armenian Armed Forces, as Azerbaijan allegedly opening another front of pressure on Russia at the instigation of the West against the background of the Ukrainian crisis.

TV and radio host Giorgi Saralidze responded by saying that in general, it is not possible to "blame one side or the other" and that it is necessary to look into what is going on carefully.

He also recalled the joint projects of Russia and Azerbaijan, the Baku Declaration on the international transport corridor "North-South", signed recently in Baku by Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran, and pointed out that Türkiye is also involved in this project and it is important for it too.

Giorgi Saralidze also noted that the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border began two days before the SCO summit, where both Azerbaijani, Turkish and Armenian leaders are due to arrive, and this is no coincidence.

"You cannot just [ed.] take a country that has very good relations [with Moscow - ed.], especially in the situation that applies to Russia - you cannot just take it and indiscriminately accuse it of committing some anti-Russian actions," the TV host concluded.
