Hungary, Armenia agree to open embassies

Armenia and Hungary have agreed to open embassies in Yerevan and Budapest in the near future.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto said this after talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

"This will be another important step in the process of improving relations between the two countries," Szijjarto said. He reminded that Hungary and Armenia restored diplomatic relations in December 2022 after a ten-year hiatus.

"Last time we talked about opening consular representations, but considering the atmosphere and the results of joint work over the past one and a half years, we see that the progress achieved should correspond to the highest level of diplomatic relations," the Hungarian FM said.
