"Everyone knows that any statement of the President of Azerbaijan becomes a reality after some time. This should be a guide for us".

According to Caliber.Az, this was stated by orientalist Armen Petrosyan to the Armenian media, commenting on the recent hostilities in the direction of the village of Dygh of Gorus region, as well as the installation of the checkpoint in Lachin region by Azerbaijan.

"Earlier, the Azerbaijani president announced the establishment of a checkpoint on the Lachin road. Baku is working very well, clearly formulating its steps and gradually implementing them. The West seeks to prevent a conflict in the region, but they won't mind if the issues are solved by subtle methods," Petrosyan said.

In turn, Stanford University professor Arthur Khachikian noted that Europe will not apply sanctions against Azerbaijan.

"And this is logical. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the representative of Azerbaijan in the UN presented new conditions - now they are talking about compensation. The next stage will be Zangazur. Let's look at the facts. We heard statements from the West.

They were relevant, but the West is not taking real actions, such as imposing sanctions on Azerbaijan. France also made beautiful statements. But Europe will not apply any sanctions. Azerbaijan ignored France's statements and said that this is our territory, and it works. So, we also accepted that this is their territory," Khachikian said.

It is noteworthy that during a survey conducted by journalists among the residents of Yerevan, some of the latter blamed the current Armenian authorities for the current situation. Thus, according to one of the respondents, the Armenian side could have prevented the appearance of the checkpoint in the Lachin region.

"We could have prevented everything. The fact is that we didn't provide Azerbaijan with the promised Zangazur corridor. It is clear that in response, Azerbaijan should have established a checkpoint in the Lachin region," said one of the interviewees.

According to another interviewee, the situation in Armenia is extremely difficult.

"Are you asking whether Azerbaijan will make concessions? Of course not. Why should it do that?" said an Armenian resident.
