Armenian-French belligerence threatens fragile peace in Caucasus
    Caliber.Az envisaged tandem's nefarious plans

    ANALYTICS  14 February 2024 - 10:48

Caliber.Az's previous articles clearly showed that France was preparing Armenia for war. And so it was. The great war is not yet in progress, but the provocation from the Armenian side has already happened.

We would like to remind you that on February 12, 2024, at 13:37 on the section of the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional state border passing through the territory of the Zangilan district, from the position of the Armenian army near the Nerkin and Gafan district, the fire was opened at the position of the border guards of the State Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan. As a result, a serviceman of the State Border Service was wounded and evacuated by helicopter to the hospital. He has already undergone surgery. And, what is particularly important to stress, as a result of the operation a metal foreign body - a sniper's bullet - was successfully removed.

The European Union mission in Armenia did not condemn the provocation, nor did official Paris, which has long and openly backed Yerevan politically, financially and with weapons. I'd like to recall what the French Minister for European and Foreign Affairs, Stephane Sejournet, said when meeting his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan: "France is ready to be part of the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan." But before Armenia's provocative action on 12 February, the fragile peace in the region was so close. So there is every reason to condemn the one who fired the shot that shattered this fragile peace. Paris, however, has long been proof of the fact that it is the only one willing to be a critic of Azerbaijan. Even in cases where Armenia's guilt is undeniable.

I would also like to point out that on February 12, in addition to the Zangilan direction, units of the Armenian armed forces from their positions in the direction of Chinarli settlement of Tovuzgali district fired small arms at the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of Kokhanabi settlement of Tovuz district. And this is yet another example of the provocative actions of the Armenian-French tandem. Of course, Armenia has begun to deny the obvious. For example, MP Tigran Abrahamyan denies the use of snipers by the Armenian side, which looks very primitive, because it is very easy to prove the guilt of the Armenian side and the presence of snipers there since the incident was recorded by video surveillance cameras.

The funniest thing about this is that Abrahamyan is calling for an "appropriate strike against Azerbaijan". So Armenia is preparing new provocations against our country. Undoubtedly, Armenia will lose again. After that, it will start causing hysteria around the world, the purpose of which will be to try to lay the blame at Azerbaijan's doorstep.

This is exactly what Armenia, supported by the countries co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group, has been doing throughout the years occupying 20 per cent of Azerbaijan's land. As we can see, despite regular examples of its military-political fiasco, there is no change in official Yerevan's strategy. As a matter of fact, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is a cynical traitor to his own soldiers.

It was obvious that Azerbaijan was going to react to the Armenian provocations, for which the Armenians deserved to be blamed. And this is what happened. As a result, there were 4 dead and 1 wounded on the Armenian side. At the same time, some of the dead are members of the criminal structure "Yerkrapah". And this is no coincidence. As early as 30 January, the head of "Yerkrapah", Sasun Mikayelyan, declared that more than 10,000 members of this organisation were permanently in combat positions on the border. Who sent them there and why? The answer is obvious. It was on the orders of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, who is an obedient executor of France's will. Azerbaijan's retaliation has traditionally been powerful. All those who give orders to carry out provocations - in Yerevan, in Paris and in other capitals - should remember that this will always be the case.
