ICRC on frontline of undeclared war with Azerbaijan
    Caliber.Az's operational channels reveal details

Yesterday, the Russian security-related blogs "Operativnie svodki" and "Dva mayora" published remarkable information about some statements made by the ICRC's Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Ariane Bauer.

The gist of the story is that in a closed-door meeting, Bauer warned her colleagues that Azerbaijan was allegedly planning an attack on southern Armenia, and in this context, she vehemently argued that ICRC should be more active in Karabakh and the region as a whole. She said the war between Russia and Ukraine should not divert the ICRC from other areas of strategic importance.

For obvious reasons, Caliber.Az could not remain indifferent to such sensitive information for our country. This morning we received confirmation through our operational channels that the Russian media reports are true. In addition, our editors have a direct quote from Bauer: "Azerbaijan is likely to conquer southern Armenia, and much depends on Russia's ability and willingness to influence regional dynamics".

Our sources describe Bauer, a Swiss national fluent in five languages, as an experienced special forces officer in a Western state that has not been friendly, to say the least.

This explains why Ariane Bauer - representing an international humanitarian organisation with an office in Switzerland - somehow makes military-political predictions, and even more, based on purely Armenian-French narratives about an "imminent attack", echoing the words of Pashinyan, Marukyan and other Armenian politicians. And she is already using these narratives to steer the ICRC in the direction that she and her "clients" would like it to go.

This is not consistent with the mandate of the Red Cross. It is also unclear to us why the ICRC office in Khankendi still exists.

Are they there to check how well the Armenians there are being fed? Certainly not. The ICRC staff are probably also employees of Western special services, which explains their insistence on staying on Azerbaijani territory as long as possible.

We have repeatedly seen that double standards, anti-Turkish chauvinism, the indulgence of Armenian provocations, total indifference to the problems of Azerbaijanis, etc. reign in this international organisation.

It is worth recalling absolutely true reports in some media about how an ICRC employee passed information to French intelligence during the 44-day war - after which he was expelled from our country. It is an open question why Baku still tolerates the presence of the ICRC in Khankendi after all this.
