Another group of displaced people, setting off from the Garadagh region of Baku, reached the city of Fuzuli on March 15. The resettled families were given keys to their apartments.

The ceremony was attended by officials of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons and special representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, the Committee told Caliber.Az.

Families will settle in renovated houses in the city of Fuzuli. At this stage, 35 more families - 153 people - were resettled to the city of Fuzuli.

Another group of residents has been sent to the city of Fuzuli under the presidential Order.

Another group of former IDPs, consisting of families temporarily settled in hostels, sanatoriums, pioneer camps, unfinished constructions and administrative buildings in different corners of the republic, was sent from Gobu Park 3 residential complex in Garadagh district of Baku city, Caliber.Az reports.

On March 15, another group of 35 families comprising 151 people are returning to Fuzuli from Garadagh district, Baku.

At this stage, 23 more families (94 people) are returning to Fizuli city; 5 families (20 people) from Sumgayit city; 3 families (18 people) from Fuzuli district; 2 families (12 people) from Beylagan district; 1 family (4 people) from Absheron district; 1 family (3 people) from Imishli district.

Thus, 562 families - 2,120 persons will be provided with permanent residence in Fuzuli City.

As a result of the brilliant victory of the Azerbaijani army in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the former IDPs have an opportunity to return to their homeland voluntarily, safely and honourably after 30 years.

Under the decree signed in November 2022 by President Aliyev approving the "First State program on the Great Return to Azerbaijan's liberated territories”, a total of 280,000 hectares (692,000 acres) of lands in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions will be readied for resettlement by 2026.

By 2026, a total of 34,500 families will be relocated to the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions. To accommodate them, 34,500 apartments and private houses will be built by 2026.
