Turkish KAPLAN tank set to make waves in Brazil

The Turkish defence company FNSS's KAPLAN (Tiger) medium tank is poised to undergo testing by the Brazilian army, marking a significant milestone in its international deployment.

The KAPLAN medium tank, a product of Turkish engineering prowess utilizing national resources, has recently made waves with its successful export to Indonesia. FNSS, the company behind the tank, has set its sights on further global achievements in the defence sector, Caliber.Az, reports citing SavunmaSanayiST.com.

The KAPLAN tank, boasting a formidable Cockerill 3105 turret, is slated to arrive in Brazil between March and April. Its inaugural appearance in the South American nation is planned during the Cavalry Festival, a cherished national ceremony scheduled for May in the city of Tramandai. Following the festivities, the vehicle will be transported to the Armored Training Center in Santa Maria to showcase its capabilities in live demonstrations.

It's worth noting that the Brazilian army's current arsenal includes 40 Leopard 1A1BE main battle tanks, 220 Leopard 1A5BR tanks, and 30 M60A3 tanks, indicating a diverse array of armoured assets in its inventory.
