Azerbaijani committee meets visiting US Congressional delegation

During their visit to Azerbaijan, a delegation of US Congressional aides met with the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Chairman Fuad Huseynov provided detailed insights into the country's policies concerning refugees and IDPs, highlighting challenges faced by them, ongoing efforts to address them, and the post-liberation scenario following the Armenian occupation, Azertac reports.

The delegation learned about the comprehensive care provided to refugees and IDPs under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership. First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva's unwavering focus on their social security, education, healthcare, and cultural development was underscored, reflecting a deeply ingrained commitment to addressing their needs.

It was emphasized that the majority of IDPs aspire to return to their native lands, contribute to their restoration, and the initial outcomes of the Great Return initiative instil confidence in the revival of life in Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh.

The invited IDPs shared their experiences of exile with keen interest from the guests, expressing a desire for peace and tranquillity and satisfaction with the Azerbaijani government's construction and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories. They eagerly anticipated their eventual return home and asked the delegation to convey their hopes and aspirations to the American congressmen.
