Azerbaijan's MFA delegates hold next round of consultations with Italian colleagues

    Another round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy was held in Rome, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Report.

    The delegations attending the political meetings were led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev and Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli.

    In the course of the political talks, the sides discussed the opportunities for a multi-sectoral strategic partnership and how to strengthen it, including the development of relations in the political, trade and economy, energy, communications, logistics, humanitarian and other areas.

    The Italian side was briefed on the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan in November 2024.

    The sides highlighted the cultural, scientific and educational exchanges between the two countries, in particular within the framework of the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku.
