Azerbaijan engages in Global Dialogue Forum in Portugal
The Global Dialogue Forum, organized by the International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) under the theme "Transformative Dialogue: Building Alliances for Peace in a Rapidly Changing World," commenced on May 15 in Lisbon, Portugal.
According to Report, a letter from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the forum participants was read by Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Entities.
Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, a member of KAICIID's Board of Directors and Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Department, also addressed the forum.
The event included discussions on the concerning trend of isolation faced by religious and ethnic minorities due to urbanization worldwide.
KAICIID is unique as an intergovernmental organization with a Board of Directors comprising representatives from major religious denominations and spiritual and governmental officials. Its mission is to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding among people of different religions and cultures. The Global Dialogue Forum aims to create a roadmap for dialogue to achieve the goals outlined in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
