Slovak PM criticises Ukraine's victory plan as unpeaceful solution
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's victory plan cannot be viewed as a peaceful solution to the conflict.
Fico emphasised his readiness to support any conflict resolution plan between Moscow and Kyiv that includes the word "peace", Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He believes that even prolonged negotiations are a more appealing option than the continuation of hostilities.
"This victory plan by Zelenskyy is no longer a formula for peace. It has suddenly been labeled a victory plan," Fico emphasised.
The prime minister added that initiatives to end hostilities cannot include proposals for deploying nuclear weapons in any territory. The same applies to Ukraine's demands for Western medium- and long-range missiles to strike Russia.
"A person who does not wish for escalation cannot have such thoughts,” he added.
Fico commented on Ukraine's desire to join NATO, expressing his belief that Kyiv's accession to the military alliance would not provide it with security guarantees.
Earlier, officials in Slovakia outlined the conditions under which the country might supply weapons to Ukraine.
