Trump looks to Putin meeting, productive talks with Xi in Washington

US President Donald Trump said he is ready to meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, as the conflict in Ukraine approaches its end, while also expressing optimism about his upcoming talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, the American leader noted that he could meet with Putin immediately, Caliber.Az reports.

“I want to do it when that war is ending and I think we will,” Trump stressed.

The US president also indicated that he expected to discuss a range of “good and productive” issues with Xi during the Chinese leader’s anticipated visit to Washington on September 24. Trump added that he looked forward to welcoming Xi and holding productive talks.
