UK intelligence reports record Russian losses in Ukraine

Russian forces suffered their highest single-day losses since the start of the war against Ukraine on September 27, according to a UK intelligence report.

British analysts said Russian forces suffered 2,090 casualties, including those killed and wounded, that day. This is “the highest daily total for the conflict since February 2024,” the UK Ministry of Defence analysts noted.

They pointed out that this was only the fourth time Russian military casualties had exceeded 2,000 in a single day. The previous three records were set in 2024.

British analysts emphasised that Russian casualty levels have remained consistently high since the summer, attributing this to the Kremlin’s continued attempts to advance around the “fortress belt” in the Donetsk region, particularly in the area of Dobropillia.
