Child killed as missile and drone attack strikes Kyiv region

The body of a child has been found under the rubble of a private house in Vyshhorod following a missile and drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reports.

“In Vyshhorod, rescuers pulled three people from the rubble of a destroyed private house. One of them was a child who suffered an acute stress reaction. The man sustained shrapnel wounds to the head, while the woman suffered a leg injury. They are receiving the necessary medical assistance. Unfortunately, the body of another child was found under the rubble. Rescuers are working to recover the body. This is a terrible tragedy,” said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Private houses were damaged and destroyed in Vyshhorod District, while fires broke out in an apartment building and garages. In Bucha District, three private houses, 11 vehicles and two warehouses were damaged, and a fire also broke out. The attack also caused damage to infrastructure facilities in Bucha, Vyshhorod and Obukhiv districts.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that two women were injured in a missile strike in the Sviatoshynskyi District. One of them was hospitalised.
