Oniks and Iskander missiles target Kyiv in heavy overnight strikes

Powerful strikes hit Ukraine’s energy infrastructure overnight, with around 20 ballistic missiles, including Iskander-M and supersonic Oniks missiles, launched at Kyiv and the surrounding region.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, the targets included Kyiv’s Thermal Power Plants No. 5 and No. 6, the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant and the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant. Large fires broke out at several facilities following the strikes, while some areas lost electricity and water supplies. An ammunition depot was also destroyed in the Holosiivskyi District of the Ukrainian capital.

Strong explosions were also reported overnight in Lutsk, Kremenchuk, Zhytomyr, Rivne and other cities.
