Armenian prime minister unveils details of Brussels meeting

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a meeting with the MPs from the Civil Contract party.

Pashinyan and the Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan informed their party members about the results of the meeting in Brussels, according to Sputnik Armenia.

Earlier, the information went viral that Pashinyan avoids meetings with the MPs from the Civil Contract party, who want to know first-hand about the details of the negotiations in Brussels.

A trilateral meeting among Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen was held in Brussels on April 5. The EU promised 270 million euros ($287 million), while the US - more than $65 million. According to the experts, expectations from the meeting were too high. Financial assistance turned out to be less than the amount announced by the pro-government forces.

Moreover, the Armenian prime minister and the French diplomat touched upon the regional situation and the bilateral agenda.

The negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the Armenia-France relations were discussed by Pashinyan and Head of the Continental Europe Department of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Brice Roquefeuil, the government said.

The sides touched upon the implementation of infrastructure projects and the development of the Armenian economy.

Special attention was paid to the regional situation. Pashinyan and Roquefeuil also discussed the humanitarian problems of internally displaced people from Karabakh.
