Over half of planned works completed on Azerbaijan-Armenia border

As of April 29, 2024, significant progress has been made in the ongoing efforts to demarcate the border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia.

Based on geodetic measurements, more than fifty per cent of the planned works have been successfully completed, with a total of 35 border posts already installed along the border region, Caliber.Az reports.

The continuation of expert group activities from both nations underscores a commitment to resolving border disputes through diplomatic channels. These groups persist in their efforts to delineate the border accurately, facilitating clearer territorial boundaries between the two neighbouring countries.

Earlier it was reported that in line with the agreements that were reached following the 8th meeting of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission of the Republic of Armenia on the delimitation of the state border and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, expert groups of two countries on the border of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia began the process of clarifying coordinates based on geodetic measurements on the ground.
