National Assembly president: Opposition wants to drag Armenia into war
REGION 06 May 2024 - 15:43
President of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan has said that obviously, the opposition wants to do everything to drag Armenia into the war.
Simonyan made these remarks in the Armenian parliament on May 6 while addressing the opposition, Caliber.Az reports.
“You want to bring peacekeepers, then say that the former authorities created such a situation, and we alone cannot ensure the country’s security. You want to create such a situation in which you can change power. Some individuals are ready to do their best for the sake of a change of power or they have already done their best. I am surprised that you think that after the events of September 27, the Armenian people did not understand and do not understand anything. What is happening? What forces are sent? Why are they doing this? The goal is to destroy Armenia or to see it as a part of some union, for example, in the Russian-Belarusian union. The goal is to see the subordinate power in Armenia, which has been for 30 years, when elections were rigged, the funds allocated for the army were robbed. Have you ever thought that after throwing stones, it will be necessary to collect stones? Our generation is collecting these stones. People understand everything,” Simonyan noted.
Simonyan also stated that people will not allow Armenia to lose its independence.
“Armenia has and will have its own clear borders. Armenia will be eternal, the Armenian people will make their choice,” he added.
