Türkiye discloses details of upcoming Erdogan-Putin talks

The Turkish presidential press secretary, Ibrahim Kalin, has made public details of upcoming talks between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

He made the remarks on Kanal7 TV's air, Media.az reports.

The success of implementing the "product [grain] deal" may contribute to the start of negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. This issue is planned to be discussed at the upcoming August 5 meeting in Sochi of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said.

"If the deal is successfully implemented, it is possible to start peace talks. If the international community does not show the will to end the war, we will talk about it two or three months later. The signed grain agreement must be protected. Our diplomatic efforts will continue within this framework," Kalin said.

He noted that Erdogan's talks with Putin, which took place on July 19 in Tehran, as well as contacts between the Turkish and Ukrainian presidents, led to the success of the grain deal.

"If there had not been so many negotiations, there would not have been the deal itself," Erdogan's representative added.
