Construction of new highway bypassing Azerbaijan’s Lachin nearing completion

The construction of a road bypassing the city of Lachin is one of the road infrastructure projects implemented upon the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions of Azerbaijan.

The construction of the road is nearing completion, Report quotes the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads as saying on August 3.

In line with the "Construction Norms and Rules", asphalt concrete pavement is being laid, horizontal marking lines are being placed in areas where asphalting work has been completed, and road signs and protective fences are being installed where necessary.

The construction of a four-arch bridge with a length of 149.5 metres and a width of 13.5 metres at the 22nd kilometre of the road, as well as the construction of artificial installations, concrete ditches, etc., has already been completed.

The necessary manpower has been involved in the territory to finalise the construction of the road soon.

The construction of a new highway bypassing the city of Lachin with a length of 32 kilometres began in July 2021. The width of the three-lane motorway on overpasses and two-lane on the other sections of the road is 7-10.5 metres, the roadbed - 12-15 metres, shoulder sections - 2x2.5 (5 m).
