PM-affiliated newspapepr rules out any Russian arms supplies to Armenia

The Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper, owned by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's family, has ruled out any Russian arms supplies to Armenia.

The information in the October 4 article headlined "What does Russia want?" was published for the attention of the supreme patriarch, three ex-presidents, and the Armenian expert community, Caliber.Az reports.

"Russia's actions are as follows: to show the vulnerability of Armenia's security for the latter to apply as soon as possible to become part of the Russia-Belarus Union State," according to the noteworthy passage in the article.

"The steps of developing this logic are the aggressiveness of Azerbaijan, the inertia of the Russian troops stationed in Armenia, the political inertia of Russia and the failure to fulfil obligations on the supply of weapons to Armenia. The latter tool is not accidental and has been used before, for example, before and after the 2016 war. Armenia must be as vulnerable as possible to appeal to Russia," it added.

"We have cases when millions of US dollars have been paid, but weapons are not supplied by the countries, including the allied ones," Pashinyan said while commenting on the issue related to the supply of weapons at a meeting of the Armenian government.

In fact, his family newspaper clearly accuses Russia of not fulfilling its obligations on arms supplies.
