Russia's Federation Council launches works for bringing Azerbaijani, Armenian parliaments closer

The Federation Council [Senate] of Russia has begun consultations aimed at launching trilateral inter-parliamentary contacts with Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to build confidence between the sides.

As Caliber.Az reports, the Vice-Speaker of the Council, Konstantin Kosachev, announced this on his Telegram channel on November 1.

"In yesterday’s joint statement [from October 31], the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia stressed, among other things, the importance of creating a positive atmosphere between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia for the continuation of the dialogue between representatives of the public, expert communities and religious leaders with Russian assistance, as well as the launch of trilateral inter-parliamentary contacts in order to strengthen trust between the people of the two countries", the post reads.

According to the Russian senator, this concerns the harnessing of mechanisms between bilateral inter-parliamentary commissions of Azerbaijan and Armenia for the realization of this task.
