Azerbaijan to hold Armenian war criminals accountable - Prosecutor General

Azerbaijani Prosecutor-General Kamran Valiyev has said that the Armenian war criminals will be held accountable for their anti-Azerbaijani crimes. 

He made the remarks during an event held at the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office on November 5 on the occasion of the Victory Day, which marks the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, as well as the liberation of the ancestral lands, Caliber.Az reports.

Firstly, the memory of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev was revered and flowers were laid at his bust.

The memory of the servicemen and civilians who died for the freedom of the Motherland was also revered. Then, Aliyev congratulated the employees of the prosecutor's office and Azerbaijani people on the holiday.

Aliyev noted that the conditions have been created in the prosecutor's offices operating in the territories liberated from occupation to organise the work of employees more efficiently. The buildings have been provided with modern technical equipment.

He stressed  that the Prosecutor-General's Office is carrying out the corresponding work to identify the Armenian war criminals, who committed war crimes, crimes against peace and humanity, and bring them to justice within the international law, as well as to calculate the damage caused to Azerbaijan as a result of the occupation.

A documentary film dedicated to the 44-day second Karabakh war was shown at the end of the event.
