Speaker says Armenia doing nothing against Russia

Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan has said that "nobody is doing anything against Russia or anyone else".

The speaker made this remark in an interview with the country’s Public Television commenting on the criticism coming from Moscow and Baku regarding the trilateral meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken scheduled for April 5 in Brussels, Caliber.Az reports referring to Armenian media.

“We had a friend, an ally who was supposed to protect us. “Big brother,” as they liked to say, when the time came to protect us, did not do so and left us alone. At the very least, he (Russia) left us alone, if everything did not happen with his knowledge,” Simonyan said.

According to him, after this, the Armenian side again expressed hope that Russia would “protect” them (Armenians).

“Then they (Russia) deceived us again, and in the end, they tried to drag us into a new war on the territory of Armenia in order to come and “save” Armenia in a specific situation and again throw a noose on Armenian statehood. Armenia’s actions are not directed against any country, even against Azerbaijan,” he emphasized.
