The radar system is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including Active Electronic Scanning Antenna (AESA) and Digital Beamforming (DBF) structures, providing electronic scanning and silhouette tracking capabilities.
One of the key functions of the ASELSAN STR radar is its ability to swiftly detect the location of enemy artillery, mortar, and rocket fire. Upon detection, the radar precisely calculates the firing location and drop point of the incoming projectiles. This crucial information is then relayed in real-time to fire support assets, enabling swift and precise responses to neutralize enemy threats.
Moreover, the radar system's advanced features allow for the calculation of deviations from target points, providing valuable feedback to firing units to adjust their shots for optimal accuracy. Troops stationed at the calculated impact locations of enemy munitions will receive timely alerts from the ASELSAN weapon detection radar, enhancing their situational awareness and enabling proactive measures to mitigate risks.
The introduction of the ASELSAN STR radar marks a significant advancement in Türkiye's defence capabilities, surpassing the functionalities of previous radar systems in service with the Turkish Armed Forces. The radar's extended range, coupled with its advanced detection and tracking capabilities, promises to bolster the effectiveness and efficiency of military operations, particularly in identifying and neutralizing enemy threats in real-time.
As ASELSAN continues to innovate in the field of defense technology, the unveiling of the STR radar underscores the company's commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to enhance national security and defense readiness. The radar system's deployment is set to contribute significantly to the protection of troops and critical assets, ensuring a proactive approach to countering emerging threats on the battlefield.
