Armenian analyst considers Iran technologically backward country
REGION 17 April 2024 - 11:15
In a recent conversation with Armenian media, analyst Armen Chibukhchyan provided critical insights into Iran's attack on Israel, shedding light on various aspects of the conflict.
As Caliber.Az reports, Chibukhchyan began by addressing the territorial aspect of the Iranian embassy in Syria, stating, "Yes, the territory of the embassy is considered Iranian territory, but this is very conditional. We understand that it is Syrian territory."
He further mentioned that "one or two generals were killed" in the attack.
Furthermore, Chibukhchyan questioned the role and reputation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stating, "Moreover, we don't even know if the Islamic Revolutionary Corps is the Iranian army? They have a very bad reputation because they are in cahoots with terrorist organisations, in the same Iraq with separatist groups. Everybody knows that. So it's not that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Corps is a saint. Again, it's not the army of Iran, it's not officially the army of Iran, it's the army of the chief turbaned Khamenei.”
Discussing the impact of the attack, Chibukhchyan emphasized that Iran's technological capabilities were discredited: “I wanted to say that there are many nuances here. Firstly, Iran spent a lot of money on this attack. Secondly, Iranian drones and missiles were discredited. So, in essence, Iran has shown that it is a technologically backward country, no matter how much it produces. Prestige is more important in this case, believe me. Look at the big fuss made in Ukraine by the propaganda of these Shaheds. The UK, the US and Israel have shown the important thing that technologically they are several heads ahead of Iran.”
Moreover, Chibukhchyan noted that the Arab world's lack of support for Iran following the attack was a significant factor: “The Arab world has simply made it clear that Iran has nothing to do here. The Arab world did not support Iran, and this is a serious circumstance. Why did Iran lose? First of all, it realised that the Arab world did not accept it. Secondly, it realised that Türkiye did not take its side at that moment.”
