Airspace over three Russian cities closed over drone threat

The airspace over  Russia's Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny are closed due to the threat of an air attack.

There are flight restrictions at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport – which are also associated with a possible attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to Baza Telegram channel.

Later, an employee of the press service of Sheremetyevo speaking to the Msk1.ru said that the airport "is working in a normal mode."

Prior to that, sources reported that the Ministry of Transportation instructed to strengthen the protection of Russian airports from drone attacks. This refers to 50 airports, which are classified as the first and second categories of transportation infrastructure facilities (TIF), where there is the greatest risk of external impact or high potential damage in case of possible attacks.
