India enhances ATAGS artillery system for Armenia with advanced modernization
REGION 04 May 2024 - 09:37
Armenia's military capabilities have received a significant boost as India's Bharat Forge Company announced the modernization of the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) recently acquired by Armenia.
The update underscores India's commitment to providing cutting-edge military technology to its allies, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
According to Bharat Forge Company, the ATAGS systems deployed in Armenia have been equipped with ballistic computers featuring an interface in Armenian. This enhancement allows for seamless integration with Armenia's ground navigation systems, significantly improving the accuracy and effectiveness of the ATAGS on the battlefield.
The Indian Defence Research Wing, citing data from Bharat Forge Company, further elaborated on the modernization efforts, highlighting that the ATAGS system in Armenia can now be adapted to communicate with the country's satellite system. This potential integration opens avenues for even more advanced guidance capabilities, enhancing Armenia's military preparedness and operational efficiency.
The modernization of the ATAGS artillery system demonstrates India's commitment to providing adaptable military solutions to its partner nations. By customizing the interface and integrating navigation systems tailored to Armenia's requirements, India aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries while bolstering Armenia's defence capabilities.
