Belarus to construct settlement for 420 families in Karabakh

Belarus is set to embark on the construction of a settlement to accommodate 420 families in Karabakh, BelTA reports quoting Belarusian Minister of Architecture and Construction Ruslan Parkhamovich.

While Belarus and Azerbaijan have collaborated in the construction sector for several years, the focus has primarily been on urban planning, design documentation, and technology exchange. However, the two countries are now taking a significant step forward with plans for the development of a new settlement resembling an agro-town.

Minister Parkhamovich emphasized the importance of not only providing comfortable housing but also ensuring decent employment opportunities for residents. The settlement will be located in the Aghdam district, in the central part of Azerbaijan, and will feature Belarusian architectural elements.

The construction project will encompass both residential units and essential infrastructure, including transportation, engineering, and social facilities. Minister Parkhamovich outlined plans for further collaboration, with the development of additional projects contingent upon the success of this initial endeavour.
