The planned Aghdam–Khankendi railway, intended as an extension of the Barda–Aghdam line, will improve Karabakh’s transport infrastructure and increase citizens’ mobility.
The new railway will stretch 28 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of JSC Azerbaijan Railways.
The design of the route has been fully completed. Along the line, stations will be built in Asgaran and Khojaly, as well as a combined railway and bus terminal complex in Khankendi, located on the banks of the Gargarchay river. The terminal complex will cover an area of 6.4 hectares.
The five-story complex will include two railway platforms and 12 bus stops.
