“Great Return:” Another 59 families head back to liberated Azerbaijani lands

In accordance with an instruction from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, another group of former internally displaced families has departed for their native lands in Khankendi, Khojaly, Aghdara and Jabrayil districts.

The group is heading to the city of Khankendi and its Karkijahan settlement; the villages of Tazabina, Khanyurdu, Khanabad and Ballija in Khojaly District; the villages of Vangli, Chapar and Ashaghi Oratagh in Aghdara District; and the village of Shukurbeyli in Jabrayil District, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The families had previously been temporarily settled in various regions of the republic, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.

At this stage, three families comprising 13 people are returning to Khankendi; five families comprising 22 people to the Karkijahan settlement; seven families comprising 31 people to Tazabina; five families comprising 22 people to Khanyurdu; two families comprising 10 people to Khanabad; one family comprising four people to Ballija; four families comprising 14 people to Vangli; four families comprising 11 people to Chapar; four families comprising nine people to Ashaghi Oratagh; and 24 families comprising 148 people to Shukurbeyli.

Residents returning to their native lands expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive care provided by the state. They also thanked the Azerbaijani Army, as well as the heroic soldiers and officers who liberated the country’s lands from occupation, and prayed for the souls of the martyrs who gave their lives along the way.
