Azerbaijani official: Over $26 millions invested in three Karabakh districts
A wide range of opportunities have been set in place by the Azerbaijani government for entrepreneurs to operate in the city of Khankendi, as well as the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, special government representative to those regions said on July 9.
Deputy to the President's Special Representative in the Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts Sabuhi Gahramanov has said that 474 properties have already been leased to business owners in these regions, Caliber.Az reports citing Azertag.
Speaking during the diplomatic event that is part of the 9th Special Summit of Heads of Diplomatic Missions that was hosted under the theme "Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy After the Restoration of Sovereignty: Priorities and Challenges,” the official revealed that around 45.5 million manats ($26.7 million) have already been invested into the region.
He further told the audience that about 2,000 people have been employed at the newly launched facilities, with the number of jobs expected to reach 5,000 once all commissioned agencies are opened.
“The [tax] incentive mechanisms applied by the state in those territories that have been liberated from occupation play an important role in achieving economic success. These incentive mechanisms create conditions for the attraction of foreign investors, alongside local ones, to the process of rebuilding Karabakh’s economy. In this regard, we are also interested in cooperating with foreign diplomatic missions to inform international investors about the favourable conditions and incentives established for investment activities in the liberated territories,” Gahramanov explained.
