Russia delivers new batches of T-90M, T-72B3M tanks to military
Russia has delivered additional batches of T-90M Proryv and T-72B3M main battle tanks to its armed forces, state-owned defence manufacturer Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) said on September 12.
The company, part of Russia’s Rostec state conglomerate, said the vehicles were delivered ahead of Russia’s Tankers’ Day and feature upgraded all-round protection, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
A Russian Defence Ministry representative quoted by UVZ said the company was meeting its production commitments on schedule and continuing to improve the protection and technical performance of its armoured vehicles.
UVZ said upgrades were being developed based on feedback and requests from tank crews operating on the front line.
The T-90M Proryv is the latest major version of Russia’s T-90 main battle tank, while the T-72B3M is a heavily modernised version of the Soviet-era T-72.
The company did not disclose the number of tanks delivered in the latest batches.
