NATO military police multinational exercises begin in Georgia
Computer-assisted command-and-staff exercises SHARP LYNX 2026 for a multinational NATO military police battalion have begun at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC) in Georgia.
The opening ceremony was attended by Major General Irakli Chichinadze, Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces; Major General Shalva Shengelia, Head of the Military Police Department; and Colonel David Gagua, Commander of JTEC.
The exercises are being held as part of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) and are aimed at enhancing interoperability, improving staff procedures, and strengthening coordination and command in a multinational environment.
The exercises will also assess the readiness of the Military Police of the Georgian Defence Forces.
SHARP LYNX 2026 will be the final event under a roadmap developed to prepare Georgia for joining the multinational NATO military police battalion.
Representatives of military police units from Georgia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Hungary are taking part in the exercises.
