PM: Armenia to decide on new nuclear power plant "in foreseeable future"

Armenia will make a decision on proposals to build a new nuclear power plant in the foreseeable future, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said.

Speaking at a meeting with Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev, Pashinyan said the decision would be based solely on economic criteria, including cost, quality, safety, construction time and guarantees offered.

The meeting also covered the possible extension of the operating life of the second reactor at Armenia’s nuclear power plant, the Armenian government’s press service said.
