TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu set to open its doors to visitors in Türkiye PHOTO
The TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu aviation, space and technology festival is set to open its doors to visitors today at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport in Türkiye.
The event is scheduled to run from September 30 to October 4, marking the 15th edition of the festival, TRT Haber reports.

The festival is organised by Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and STM. The event venue covers 191,000 square meters and features technology competitions, aviation shows, exhibitions, workshops, concerts, stage performances, simulators and scientific activities.

As part of the flight program, the SOLOTÜRK and Turkish Stars aerobatic teams will perform, while military and civilian aircraft will also be displayed, including ATAK helicopters, HÜRKUŞ aircraft and ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar AKINCI UAVs. Visitors will also be able to see examples of land and naval equipment.

More than 1.6 million people from 99 countries are taking part in the technology competitions, with 2,000 teams reaching the finals. Finalists will receive financial support, while the total prize pool exceeds 100 million Turkish liras (around $2 million).

The finals in Şanlıurfa will be held across 14 technology categories, including cybersecurity, blockchain, financial technologies, air defence and communication systems, agrotechnology, robotics, medical technologies and unmanned systems.
