08 September 2026 17:14

Azerbaijani religious figures from Türkiye, Georgia and Iraq have visited Shusha as part of the Path of Victory: Following the Footsteps of Victory project.

The visit was organised by the Fund for the Promotion of Moral Values under Azerbaijan's State Committee on Religious Associations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The trip is aimed at preserving national and spiritual values, strengthening the ties of Azerbaijanis living abroad with their historical homeland, and conveying the realities of Azerbaijan to the international community.

During the visit, the guests visited the Victory Monument in Shusha.

They were also informed about the busts of world-renowned Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, singer Bulbul and poet Khurshidbanu Natavan, which were shot at during the occupation of the city.

The delegation later visited Natavan's house and the spring complex built on her initiative.

The itinerary also includes the Upper Govhar Agha Mosque, Lower Govhar Agha Mosque, Saatli and Mamayi mosques, Jidir Duzu plain, and the Vagif Museum-Mausoleum Complex, as well as other tourist and historical sites in the city.
