04 September 2026 13:37

A delegation of Georgian journalists and bloggers has visited the Azerbaijani city of Shusha, exploring its history, cultural heritage and landmarks.

The delegation’s visit began at the building of the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha, where the guests were briefed on the city’s history, cultural monuments and the battles surrounding its liberation from occupation, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The visitors also viewed the bullet-riddled busts of prominent Azerbaijani figures, which bear traces of the conflict.

The delegation then toured the remains of the palace complex of prominent Azerbaijani poetess Khurshidbanu Natavan. The guests were informed about Natavan’s life and literary legacy, as well as the condition of her former house museum before and after restoration efforts.

The Georgian media representatives also visited Shusha Fortress, where they took a commemorative photograph in front of the historic walls alongside Azerbaijani and Georgian flag bearers.

The tour continued with a visit to the Govhar Agha Mosque, another important landmark of Shusha’s cultural and religious heritage.

The delegation concluded its visit at Jidir Plain, one of the city’s best-known historical and scenic sites.

The Georgian journalists and bloggers are scheduled to continue their trip with a visit to Ganja, their next destination.
