Great Return: Families receive keys to new homes in Azerbaijan’s Shukurbeyli UPDATED

On September 10, 25 families returning to their native village of Shukurbeyli in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district for permanent residence were presented with the keys to their new homes.

The key handover ceremony was attended by officials of the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan districts, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, and other officials, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Representatives of Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) provided residents with detailed information about the dangers posed by mines and unexploded ordnance.

The families were advised to stay away from suspicious objects and areas and to notify the relevant authorities if they encounter such hazards.

Another group of Azerbaijani residents has returned to the liberated territories as part of the state programme “Great Return”.

On the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, 25 families comprising 154 people have relocated to Shukurbeyli village in Jabrayil district, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The families had previously been temporarily accommodated in various parts of Azerbaijan, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.

The residents returning to their homeland expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state support provided to them.

They also thanked the Azerbaijani Army, its soldiers and officers for liberating the territories from occupation and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs who lost their lives in the struggle for the liberation of the lands.
