Azerbaijan to increase number of schools in Karabakh, Eastern Zangazur
The number of schools operating in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions will be increased to 52 as part of the Great Return programme, Eshgi Bagirov, State Agency for Preschool and General Education Director, has said.
Speaking at an education conference, he noted that the number of educational institutions operating in the regions under the Great Return programme had been increased to 37 in the previous academic year, Caliber.Az reports.
“New educational institutions will also be commissioned in other regions of the country. From the new academic year, 43 new general education institutions are planned to begin operating,” he added.
Eshgi Bagirov also said that renovation work had been carried out at 1,000 educational institutions in recent months.
According to him, this means an improved educational environment for around 550,000 students.
