Türkiye's ALPIN unmanned helicopter to undertake maritime missions

TRT Haber reported that Türkiye's inaugural unmanned ALPIN helicopter, developed by Titra Technology, is set to possess the capability of taking off and landing on naval platforms.

During the SEDEC exhibition, a cooperation protocol was inked between Titra Technology and Airbus to advance this initiative.

Abdulkadir Shener, CEO of Titra Technology, revealed that the collaboration with Airbus has been ongoing for approximately 4-5 months.

"Landing a helicopter on a ship is a highly complex endeavour, and it's the primary focus of our collaboration with Airbus. Our partnership aims to equip ALPIN with the capability to land on naval vessels, addressing a challenging problem with limited existing solutions. In the next 6 months, we aim to deliver this capability.

While there won't be any fundamental changes to the platform, some hardware and software adjustments will be made. ALPIN's autopilot, developed by Titra, will remain a key feature. The integration process will be a joint effort between our teams. Airbus brings valuable experience to the table, and together, we're eager to tackle this challenge. This marks a significant milestone, as neither party has previously addressed this issue with a platform of this caliber," Schener said.
