German chancellor admits peace in Ukraine cannot be achieved without Russia

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz agrees that Russia should be involved in the peace process on Ukraine, but believes that it has allegedly never made any effort to achieve peace so far.

He made this assertion at a conference on Ukraine in Bürgenstock, TASS reports.

"It is true that peace in Ukraine cannot be achieved without Russia," Scholz said. However, he argued, Russia could withdraw its troops in order to achieve this. "But so far, Russia has refused to follow our joint call to make efforts for peace," the chancellor opined.

Scholz went on to make the usual accusations against the Russian Federation for allegedly failing to follow the path of dialogue with NATO and the United States on European security.
