Azerbaijan, North Macedonia agree to continue dialogue for development of ties

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with North Macedonian counterpart Buyar Osmani on the sidelines of the 132nd meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Turin, Italy.

Satisfaction with the current existing relations between the two countries was expressed at the meeting. An agreement was reached to continue the dialogue for the further development of relations, based on the mechanism of political consultations, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Report.

The sides emphasized at the meeting that there is a great potential for the development of economic ties between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, and the importance of using this potential was highlighted.

Bayramov informed his counterpart about the latest situation in the region, spoke about the grave consequences of the aggressive policy pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan for almost 30 years, as well as about the new situation in the region after the 44-day second Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh War and the steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish peace and security in the region.

The importance of Azerbaijan's hydrocarbon resources for Europe in terms of diversification of energy resources and energy security was emphasized at the meeting.

The sides agreed to make mutual visits to further develop relations between the two countries.

Moreover, the sides discussed regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine, as well as other issues of mutual interest, at the meeting.
