Azerbaijan starts paving with asphalt new road bypassing Lachin

The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has said that a new road, bypassing Lachin city, the regional centre of the Lachin district, is being paved with asphalt.

“All roads in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions are designed to bypass big settlements, which is important both in terms of the comfort of the population living in these settlements, and citizens who will use these roads,” the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads told Caliber.Az.

The length of the new highway is 32 kilometres. At the moment, large-scale construction work is being carried out along the road, a subgrade is being prepared, and the road is being widened. The section in which the road base has been prepared is being paved with asphalt.

The final work is underway on the four-span bridge with a length of 149.5 metres and a width of 13.5 metres, which is being built on the 22nd kilometre of the road.
