FT: Germany fears Russia will cut gas supply amid maintenance

The German government fears Russia could completely cut gas supplies to the country for around two weeks during its annual maintenance of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline in July, the Financial Times reported on June 23 citing unnamed officials.
One official stressed that the current gas situation in the country is "tight enough without Nord Stream 1 being shut down."
Earlier, Russia's Gazprom reduced the flow of gas through Nord Stream 1 by 60%, citing technical difficulties, including a longer-than-expected repair of compressor units by Siemens.
