Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry about dispatch of Armenian contractors to Karabakh

The information circulated in the Armenian media referring to the deputy chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces is clearly another confession made by Armenian officials in connection with the dispatch of illegal military formations to Azerbaijani territory.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayeva said in response to the statement of the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Sahak Sahakyan, that contract servicemen will replace Armenian conscripts in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, Caliber.Az reports.

"This is a gross violation by Armenia of the trilateral statement of November 9/10, 2020. It should be recalled that under article 4 of this statement, the Armenian Armed Forces are withdrawn from Azerbaijani territories and, in parallel, a Russian peacekeeping contingent is stationed in these territories. Earlier, we have repeatedly stated that Armenia violates the provisions of the trilateral statement, including not fully withdrawing illegal armed formations from the territory of Azerbaijan.

Now, when Azerbaijan is taking steps to normalise relations and peacemaking at the post-conflict stage, this approach of Armenia clearly demonstrates the latter's interest in creating tension in the region, not peace.

This statement by Armenian officials says that Armenia's statements about peace are nothing but hypocrisy.

It is also another vivid embodiment of Armenia's aggressive policy," Leyla Abdullayeva said.
