China seeks stronger economic ties with US for mutually beneficial cooperation

China is ready to enhance communication with the United States to foster a stable and sound policy environment for mutually beneficial business cooperation, Vice-Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said during a meeting with a US company counselor.

Wang, who also serves as China's international trade representative, emphasized that China-US economic and trade relations are inherently mutually beneficial and that confrontation and conflict should not be the path forward for either country, Caliber.Az reports per Chinese media.

"China-US economic and trade relations are mutually beneficial and win-win in nature, and confrontation and conflict should not be the choice of either side," Wang stated during his meeting with Myron Brilliant, senior counselor to Albright Stonebridge Group, on February 24.

The two officials discussed a wide range of issues related to the bilateral economic and trade relationship, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Wang stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win outcomes.

The Vice-Commerce Minister further noted that China’s ongoing high-quality economic development would present increased opportunities for foreign-invested enterprises. He also reiterated China's stance on issues such as the US imposing additional unilateral tariffs on Chinese goods.

Brilliant, for his part, acknowledged the broad opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. He expressed hope that both governments would continue to foster dialogue and communication, ultimately building "more bridges rather than walls."

This meeting highlights China’s ongoing efforts to improve relations with the United States and reinforce the mutual benefits of economic engagement between the two largest economies in the world.
