China urges NATO to rethink views on Beijing, avoid interference in Indo-Pacific region
The Chinese diplomatic mission to the European Union has urged the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to correct its misconceptions about China and refrain from interfering in the affairs of the Indo-Pacific region.
This statement came in response to NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte's call for stronger ties with the alliance's partners in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Gazeta.ru
"China calls on NATO to abandon Cold War mentality, rectify its misunderstandings about China, cease its interference in the Indo-Pacific affairs, and contribute more to global peace and stability rather than the opposite," the statement emphasized.
The Chinese diplomatic mission also addressed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, asserting that assigning blame and forming alliances will not help resolve the situation.
On October 2, Indian analyst S.L. Kantan commented that NATO member states should stop arming Ukraine and seek peace with Russia to create a more peaceful environment in Eurasia. He described Ukraine as a "failed geopolitical project of globalists."
The tenure of Jens Stoltenberg as NATO Secretary-General ended on October 1, with Mark Rutte succeeding him. The future direction of NATO under Rutte's leadership remains to be seen, particularly regarding how the alliance will respond to Russia and the potential for conflict. Military analyst Mikhail Khodarenko of Gazeta.Ru explores these questions in his latest report.
