Caliber.Az exclusive: Armenia as a secret channel of communication between Paris and Tehran Details of French betrayal
According to information obtained by Caliber.Az from reliable diplomatic sources, Armenia is acting as a covert intermediary between France and Iran, conveying messages between the two parties. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held phone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on November 14 and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on November 16.
Moreover, during a meeting between Pashinyan and Macron on November 7 in Budapest, as part of the European Political Community summit, the latter provided the Armenian Prime Minister with instructions to relay messages to Iran. Drawing on its long-standing experience in the Middle East and Africa, France is using Pashinyan to turn Armenia into its new client state, effectively transforming it into a new colony.
Unexpected resignations in Armenia
The recent wave of unexpected resignations in Armenia is closely linked to these developments. In recent days, several high-ranking officials have stepped down, including Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, head of the Anti-Corruption Committee Sasun Khachatryan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan, and others. Notably, the Minister of Internal Affairs, a former schoolmate and close ally of Prime Minister Pashinyan, played a central role in enforcing harsh crackdowns on the opposition. Despite these developments, the West—viewing Pashinyan as its new proxy—remains silent.
The leak of information about secret negotiations between France and Iran, facilitated through Armenia, came precisely from those who have resigned. Among them, and even among those who remain in Pashinyan's inner circle, there are individuals with ties to the U.S. and other Western structures. This is why Pashinyan made the decision to part ways with them. This information has been fully confirmed by Caliber.Az sources.
Macron’s regime and double standards
These developments highlight the hypocrisy of Macron’s regime, which misleads even its Western allies while engaging in backdoor negotiations with Iran. While the European Union debates and imposes new sanctions on Tehran, Macron is covertly pursuing talks with Iran through Armenia.
This also constitutes a betrayal of France's NATO ally, the United States, including newly elected President Donald Trump, who has made clear his intention to adopt a tougher stance toward the Islamic Republic of Iran.
French-Iranian historical ties
These developments are hardly surprising, given France's long-standing interest in Iran. It is worth recalling that Ayatollah Khomeini lived in exile in France before returning to Iran on an Air France flight following the Islamic Revolution. Until recently, French companies such as TOTAL and Peugeot continued operations in Iran despite Western sanctions.
Arms transfers to Armenia
In this context, it is also important to note Iran's role in facilitating France's rearmament of Armenia. Reports indicate that some Caesar artillery systems and other weaponry were delivered to Armenia via Iranian territory.
Armenia remains a critical link for France in recruiting Iranian nationals to work for French intelligence, making its territory one of the most convenient platforms for such operations.
We possess detailed information about the specific messages France has conveyed to Iran through Armenia. These details will be published if necessary.
